Alain Williams is a comedy writer from Victoria, BC. His influences are stand up comedy, fantasy and science fiction genres, hip hop old and new, and all things classic kung fu. He stutters proudly and he will probably laugh too hard at the things you say. If you ask him to play D&D, he will say yes, as long as he can play a monk.

In 2015 after completing a year in Fine Arts at the Arts University of Bournemouth, I moved to Vancouver to attend Vancouver Film School’s Make-Up for TV and Film program. Upon graduating, I moved back to the UK and started working for the BBC’s ongoing TV show ‘Casualty’ on BAFTA winning episodes whilst also gaining experience in the West End production of “The Book of Mormon”, serving in the wig department. On completion of my contract, I moved to Australia where I lived and traveled in a van for a full year working on the occasional short film and photoshoot.
I returned to Canada in January 2019, where I started to work professionally on IATSE 891 and ACFC 2020 productions. Whilst also becoming a volunteer with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and practicing skateboarding in my spare time.

Born and raised in the West Coast Wilderness, Bev is an all-around outdoor lady/ creature who is more at home in the forest than anywhere. Somewhere between gaming, travelling, cycling, yoga, brewing (and drinking) beer, riding horses and motorcycles, Bev found herself working at AFL living out all her wildest sci-fi / fantasy dreams of becoming a professional nerd. She loves working in a creative environment surrounded by good people, and is always ready with a cringe-worthy pun or Dad joke. Her insatiable thirst for adventure, trying new things, exploring and finding new places has landed her the position of vlogger at AFL. She loves animals and nature, and as a former archaeologist, she has a deep appreciation for history and the occult. She drives like an asshole but has a good heart. There is a little wiggle room in there for food, friends, family and comedy.

Chris does stuff. All kinds of stuff.
For 20 years he was a multidisciplinary circus performer, artistic director, and master of ceremonies. He’s performed at events from the Singapore Grand Prix to the mainstage of Basscoast music festival. He taught circus for 10 years, hosted a monthly dance cabaret, toured an award winning circus show, made 5 years of haunted house theatre, helped run a circus festival, built some sets, sewed some costumes, and produced a bunch of local shows. Some of them were good.
For no good reason he took up leatherwork in 2016 and now he works in our costume department making real clothes for imaginary people.

Alex was the kid in highschool who would always pitch video projects as a substitute for writing lengthy essays. In 2009 he earned a Diploma of Communications with a focus in video production from Camosun College in Victoria, and soon began working as a TV news cameraman; a job he has described as “driving around in a van, solving groovy mysteries”. In 2014 he put his ENG camera down, and moved to Vancouver to pursue opportunities on larger productions. After a too-long run of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies and similar gigs, Alex finally settled into his position at AFL, nestled comfortably somewhere in the space between the Camera and Post Production departments

Tiffany is an HR professional who has spent a majority of her career in the non-profit sector. While she thought her one stint as a film extra 15 years ago had prepared her for the shift to the film industry, she quickly realized nothing could prepare her for the wonderfully unique and quirky world of AFL. On her days off you will most likely find her with her family outdoors doing the various activities Vancouverites like do: hanging in a park, sitting on a patio, looking at the ocean, cycling around or complaining about the rain.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away… no wait, wrong story. I’m a nerd, who’s life revolves around dogs. From being a parent to rescue dogs over the past 20+ years, to becoming a volunteer for dog rescue organizations and working in the dog care industry, I just truly love working with and being around dogs. Getting involved with dog rescue and dog daycare work has felt like I’ve really found my calling and working for the AFL doggie daycare has truly been a dream come true. Life would be perfect if I could manage to leave the house without dog hair on my clothing, but that is probably asking the impossible

I would like to think that I am a true coddiwompler at heart.
Inspiration strikes. I may not know which direction to head, but by putting one curious toe out the porthole and just committing to sail into uncharted waters has been the most rewarding way that I find my path of calling. The winds change often, but arts and the environment is where my heart truly sings. After studying as a jeweller amidst the ruggedly beautiful mountains of kootenays, I longed to create more than just jewellery. I put my strange imagination at work and the possibilities were endless.
It was only a matter of time before I ended up in the film Industry; Driven, confused, Jack of all arts, passionate, transient, with a touch of artistic madness.
While traveling New Zealand, inspiration was in everything; every gnarled root, sulphurous mud belch, cavernous glaciers and hobbit holes; and like Bilbo I coddiwompled my way in to my first big adventure. My first film gig.
I haven’t (for the most part) looked back.
I can’t begin to count how many treacherous swamps, seemingly endless swathes of surprisingly stingy stinging nettles, trolls, wolves, and thick gnarly thorn brambles have barricaded my missions; yet I am able to see the magic in mystery and explore my passion without borders. I will continue down the road of creating all kinds of art, and uncovering a spark in curious places I would not have otherwise found.
